Google Answering: Radiation, Collins’ Space Suit and More

A lot of people find this blog by typing questions and requesting information from Google and other search engines. Here’s a rundown, the first of a weekly series, through some of the more recent searches used to find this blog. These include details on Michael Collins’ space suit, a question about astronauts’ dying from radiation and photographs of Apollo 1′s memorial plaque(s) and of the crew praying.

LRO Pictures of Apollo 12 Landing Site (Ocean of Storms)

Pictured: The Ocean of Storms, as photographed by the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter. Otherwise known as the landing site for Apollo 12. Scientific equipment, including the ALSEP, is obvious, as is the descent stage of the lunar module Intrepid. (To my untrained eye, Intrepid is very obviously shining, unlike anything else on the lunar surface). Note also the tracks in the dust.
